Seth Thomas Peanut Office Calendar #3 Clock, 1870’s Rare
Seth Thomas office calendar #3 wall clock, better known as the “Peanut” calendar clock. The case is rosewood veneer, in good condition with a few small areas of loss, and measures 23″ L x 10 1/2 ” W. Probably made before 1875 since the label shows the place of manufacture as Plymouth Hollow, CT before its name was changed to Thomaston in 1875 to honor the clock maker, Seth Thomas. The clock has the “S” “T” monogrammed hands. The dial measures 5 1/2″ in diameter and the calendar dial 7 3/4″. The door lock is missing and a swivel hook secures the door to the clock frame. The day and month paper rollers appear to be original and appear to be working. The date hand needs to be adjusted since it has not advanced during the testing of the clock. Pendulum and key provided. The item “Seth Thomas Peanut Office Calendar #3 Clock, 1870’s Rare” is in sale since Monday, September 27, 2021.
