Antique Circa 1850s – 1860s American Clock Company IRON FRONT Parlor Mantle Clock – See Video. Movement – Time & Strike with gong chime – 8 Day. Dial – Likely Original. Operating condition – I have many clocks to test and limited time to do so – Tested – This clock needed a bit of oiling to get it running, it winds up on both sides fine and i have run it for over 3 days, seems to be a good runner but as said in the video the movement is dirty and has probably never been cleaned in its 160ish years of life and would greatly benefit from a […]

Therefore, I will state with considerable certainty as this duo does seem rather elusive that this set has become very collectable and a tad rare! The name of this set is; “SHIPMATES” and there is a sticker on the bottom of the base which verifies the fact. This Seth Thomas clock and Barometer set would be dated somewhere around 1938 or sometime shortly thereafter. Production of the No. 44 Wheel Bezel Clock would date back to 1928 and the Herald No. 1 Barometer at the earliest around 1938. This set has been in my possession for the last 20 plus years. 115 fine levered movement that features a compensated balance […]

Double Spring, Runs 7-5/8 Bezel. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself! Nice looking wall clock here. Made by the Seth Thomas Company in the USA. This is not the smaller 4 case model. This is the larger 7-5/8 case model. Would guess from design that the clock was made prior to WWII. The clock is most likely a 16 day mechanical brass movement with the two spring winds. No strike or chime here with this clock. Nice black colored composite case here. The numbering and minute marking are done in black on the antique white background face. The hands match and look […]

Really Cool Clock — Here’s what we know. It works – see below. The Brass base has been stamped as follows. Hitt 1981 suggesting it might be a 20 year employment or retirement award. The brass plate stamp likely places the date of manufacture to the early 1980’s. The bells work, but it looks like the hour hand needs to be adjusted two hours forward to align with the correct bell sequence. The unit has not been cleaned or unassembled except the face was removed to wind the clock. It comes with a key, but does not appear to be original. Appears to be Solid Wood – Might be Walnut […]
