Seth Thomas Ogee Shelf Clock w Original Reverse Painting on Glass 1800s. Reverse glass painting of a castle scene on the bottom window. Ogee case, made in Plymouth Hollow, glasses puttied in. Dial is metal, and two rings drawn around time track with dots for minute marks. Early features of dial are tapered numerals 3, 4, and 8, with small winding holes (8.2 mm). Movement type 1.243 (the earliest type). Measures: Height 25-7/8″, width 15-5/8″, depth 4-3/8. The case has nicks, chips, scratches in the veneer and wood back. Good condition overall with the main flaws being spots of missing veneer around the clock and a tear on the center of the face, otherwise normal signs of wear. Does not have the key. CONDITION: Good working condition with key and pendulum. Some surface wear as expected, couple very small hard to see impressions dents in wood at top edge by the crest and on the top.
