Antique Seth Thomas Sonora No. 5 Chiming Shelf or Mantel Clock, Adamantine finish with 90D movement. Excellent condition, keeps good time, chimes properly, but needs work. Case in fantastic original condition, with no cracks, splits etc. Very minor wear with age. The original convex crystal is in perfect condition with good hinges and latch. The dial is showing some wear and discoloration. Needs a few repairs/adjustments. The hourly strike mechanism is not working. The spring is broken or detached. The instruments measure just over 6 inches across the mounting flange and stand about 3 inches from the wall. Comes with the two mounting brackets, and the thumbnail screws that lock the instruments in place. These come from a local estate, and are in wonderful condition. We put a new battery in the clock and it fired right up. Barometer seems to be falling slightly indicating changing weather, like we seem to be having!
