1895 Antique Seth Thomas Mantle Clock – Adamantine Victorian Mantle Clock. Patented 1880 Seth Thomas Mantle Clock No. Underside marked 5981 L – Marking is a reverse order system that Seth Thomas used for dating when it was made. Made- December 1895. The clock features the Seth Thomas Adamantine finish (resembles marble or burl wood and is scratch resistant). Near perfect label attached to the back of the clock. Clock comes with original pendulum and a key for winding. There are metal ornate lion heads with rings on both sides of clock and me. Tal ornate pillars on the front two sides showing the face of a knave on each one. Metal gear plate inside is engraved/marked ST and 3 5/8. 16 length at widest point from metal foot to metal foot. 11 high from bottom to highest point. 6 wide at widest point of clock including feet. Clock is in used antique preowned condition, it is not working, Has original pendulum and a key for winding. Glass front panel over face of clock opens and closes, no cracks in glass. Metal gears inside clock are shown in pictures, clock will chime when a lever up front is moved by hand and some gears will move while it chimes, also a lever in the back will produce the same results when moved. Clock needs cleaning and serviced. It is the buyers responsibility to review all pictures and description.
