A Seth Thomas Model 102 from the 1880s in a stunning faux burl wood adamantine finish with a deep, rich luster. The finish came to us in good condition and we have used our neutral cleaner and applied a coat of hard wax and done minor cleaning to the copper accents. The movement is of the period but does not appear to be the original movement housed in the case (based on mounting holes inside the case). Sound Opening on Bottom. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself. A nice looking patinaed brass lacquer look case on this clock. Would guess the clock dates to just before the WWII period. Has no markings on the back of the case. An uncommon feature with this clock is the sound venting on the bottom of the case. An uncommon, but ingenious feature to allow the strike of the clock to be heard over a larger area. The bezel (door) is attached to the rest of the case. Flat glass in the bezel is intact. Rare antique Seth Thomas Chime Number 73 Westminster Chime 113A mantle clock, a stunning piece of horological history perfect for collectors or vintage decor enthusiasts.
