WONDERFUL SETH THOMAS SONS & COMPANY GILT FIGURAL MANTEL CLOCK CIRCA 1872. Measures approximately 15 ½ high by 17 ½ wide by 5 ½ deep. Clock has been serviced and is running fine. It is running fast but can be adjusted by moving the pendulum balance either up or down. There are two keys for the large wind-ups in the clock face but needs a very tiny key for the wind-up in the top rim of the clock face. Measures approximately 18 inches in total length including the bottom feet by 7 inches wide including the bottom feet by 11 inches tall including the bottom feet. Exterior is moderately dirty and dusty throughout. Exterior shows moderate to heavy surface scratching, scuffing, general wear, paint wear and brown discoloration throughout. The brown discoloration is very heavy on the top throughout. There is a pencil eraser sized veneer flake on the center of the top. There is a silver dollar sized stain along the top center. This clock is huge, I bought it thinking it was a normal size when in fact its nearly as tall as two normal bottles of wine! The casting is sublime, its cold painted and bronzed, the ladies expression is very peaceful and serene, the hair is what I love the most, how it becomes part of the clock and can be seen from all angles. This is a working clock that keeps accurate time. The clock measures 1 1 tall, 1 4 long and 6deep. The case is in good condition with no noticeable marks. No breaks, cracks or repairs. T he marble inserts displays well. The 4.5 porcelain dial is in very good condition. The 5.5bezel, and beveled glass are also in very good condition. This is an antique signed Seth Thomas 4 bell sonora clock. It has a painted case that is simulated Rosewood grain painted. The case measures 14.5 inches in height, 12 inches in length, 7.5 inches in depth. The face probably needs a cleaning, it is brass so it will clean up. The right keyhole will wind perfectly and so it will tell time. However the left keyhole has the spring broken so it will need a repair to the spring, so it currently will not chime with the bells.
