I don’t know anything about this. It runs, it chimes, it gongs and keeps time. It says 1880 on the label (See photo) The key is not original, trust me, I bought it at Walmart. Antique Seth Thomas Sonora No. 5 Chiming Shelf or Mantel Clock, Adamantine finish with 90D movement. Excellent condition, keeps good time, chimes properly, but needs work. Case in fantastic original condition, with no cracks, splits etc. Very minor wear with age. The original convex crystal is in perfect condition with good hinges and latch. The dial is showing some wear and discoloration. Needs a few repairs/adjustments. The hourly strike mechanism is not working. The spring is broken or detached. Measures approximately 14-3/4″ tall and 10″ wide at base. Made by Seth Thomas. Clock has been running for a few days at listing time. Appears to be within a couple minute or so per day. Westminster chime sounds a little slow but rings every 15 mins as designed. Chime does need to be adjusted, as it chimes at 5-10 minutes after it is supposed to. Hours chime at top of hour usually. Will miss a chime sequence occasionally. Clock finish shows age but no visible damage or repairs noted. It’s old, and needs to be professionally serviced. The case shows it’s age with minor dents and scuffs. There is crazing to the finish. I think both upper and lower glass are original. The movement has been cleaned, oiled and runs as designed. The clock appears to have been serviced many times as the dates on the movement indicate. There is very little wear to the movement parts. I ran the clock two weeks to check the operation of it. It is mahogany with beautiful inlay on the front. This is one of the finest examples of this type of clock I have ever seen. It is in amazing condition for being over 100 years old! It was just professionally serviced, (disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and oiled) ready for many years of care-free ownership. The clock’s brass movement is in great. Probably from the late 1800s to early 1900s. 13 inches tall , 11 inches wide , and 7 inches depth. The woodgrain finish is very good and does not have any damage to the wood. It does come with the pendulum and key. I did get the clock to run only for a few minutes at most but eventually stops. It chimes every 15 minutes and on the hour.
