Strike mechanism works as it should on the hour. The rosewood case is in excellent condition with the exception of a small veneer chip on the upper right (see photo). Offered as a restoration project or parts. Antique Seth Thomas double dial calendar mantel/ shelf clock. Rosewood veneered case is 33 tall. Label inside dated 1881. This is an early Seth Double dial with flat top and lower bezels. Most have rounded bezels. 8 day weight driven lyre striking movement is complete. The photos show the veneer loss. Up for sale is this Rare Antique Seth Thomas Boston Model City Series Parlor Mantle Clock. Case shows a fair amount of wear, rubs and scratches. I believe two finials are replaced and the third is damaged. The dial pushes in a bit when you insert the key, needs a little solder at the bottom. One of the Geneva springs stops has been removed.
