The veneer is tight to the case and nearly perfect for a 194 year old American antique. The old hands are delicate and the original hand painted wood dial is well preserved. Absolutely beautiful antique Seth Thomas mantle clock. It has faux marble columns and comes with the pendalum and key. The clock chimes once every hour with a separate one-chime on the half-hour. One of the back columns is broken and is loose. I tried to capture that in the photo, but it is hard to tell from the photo. I would recommend getting it professionally cleaned. It works well as is. This is a wonderful and very stunning Seth Thomas adamantine clock. This clock runs well and chimes loudly and with great resonance. This clock is in good condition with good glass and a solid face. There is a burn mark on the top and the back protrudes slightly further than it should but this is an older clock and these sorts of things are to be expected.
