Antique Seth Thomas 8 Day “Beehive” Round Top Style Striking Mantle Clock. This beautifully styled clock was made by The Seth Thomas Clock Co. In Thomaston, Connecticut, USA during the earlier 1900’s. It features a quality Seth Thomas #89 movement which has been cleaned and is in good running order, keeping time and gonging properly. It counts out each hour on a cathedral style gong and announces each half hour with a single toll. Antique Ansonia pillar and scroll mantle mechanical (wind-up) clock from the 920’s. After winging it up, the clock appears to work for a while, then tIcking starts to slow down, eventually stopping. The coil for the gong is no longer attached, but is included. Case needs to be refinished. Great project clock or use as display as is. Going off what I can find from on line research I believe this Seth Thomas 8 day mantle clock is from the 20’s and a Sentinel model – open to corrections if I’m mistaken.
