Made by Seth Thomas out of Plymouth Conn. USA in the late 1800’s. 25″ tall, 14 7/8″ wide, and 4 1/2 deep. Looks to be walnut but please see pictures to be sure. Front glass panes are in good shape with no cracks. The top glass has that old wavy appearance to it. Good antique patina throughout. The outside cabinet has small scratches etc. The face has patina. I bought it at an estate sale and I don’t know much about clocks but I’ll tell you what I do know. It does wind when I turn it (in other words, the key is the right size). When I push the pendulum, it works just a little and then slows down and stops. One time it actually ran for 10 minutes but then stopped. The pendulum looks great. On the clockwork lower right is the number “4½” which I’ve read is the pendulum length. On the clockwork is also “Made in USAmerica” and the Seth Thomas Logo. Large old brass clock from Allis-Chalmers Milwaukee Works. It was made by the American Steam Gauge & Valve Company and has a Seth Thomas movement. The face is about 10 inches diameter and the bezel is 12 3/8 inches. It is in working order with some issues. The movement is a vintage replacement. The glass is also replaced. It has tarnish and wear and the back rim has a bend at the top mounting hole. The keys both work, but are replacements. The door often does not lock when it is shut. Antique Seth Thomas Mantle Shelf Clock Tambour Original in very nice condition. This does have a couple of dings and some tiny white paint specks will pop off with a little effort and I posted close ups of these. Measures 20-5/8 inches across the bottom X 9-1/4 inches tall X 6 inches deep / wide across the bottom. This has the very attractive metal dial with applied brass numbers that give it a very attractive 3 dimensional appearance.
