This is a popular example of a Seth Thomas 8 day larger size mantle clock. A black finish Adamantine mantle or shelf model. It does run and the strike is working correctly. HOWEVER = At this time it has run for a full 8 days and the time is within a few minutes a week. It has the back wood cover and door. This is a very attractive and desirable Seth Thomas Adamantine which I enjoy purchasing and working on because Seth Thomas made very high quality movements and pioneered the sort of veneer over wood look that looks great. This is not a top of the line adamantine but has a very decent look going with the lions heads tan beige marble tone and good looking bezel. But the dial does have cracks around the winding ports. Antique Refurbished 1890s Seth Thomas Adamantine 8-Day Mantel Clock Label # 295A. Back door has “ST” stamped in relief. The clock mechanism has been cleaned, face has been replaced. The lions at each end and the feet at each corner are in excellent condition. The adamantine has no nicks or breaks. Key and original pendulum are wrapped in a foam pocket.
