Clock face (7 inches in diameter) and numerals in good condition (but would benefit from a polish). Metal parts have some tarnish and 3 of the 4 clips that hold the clock face in place have broken (see photos). Beautiful rarer and more sought after Seth Thomas Ogee Top shelf clock. Good mahogany veneer, shellac finish, both glasses are original and floated glass. Perfect lower reverse image, repainted zinc-backed dial exactly as original and has nice “ST” repro hands. Cleaned and oiled 30-hour brass spring-driven and marked works. This super nice clock is in very good strong running condition as shown with no breaks or cracks. It has the highly desirable Mayland Chime Rods. Their chime is beautiful, rich and lyrical! It chimes a partial chime on the quarter hour and chimes the full chime and the correct number of dongs on the hour. Glass face has good hinges and latches closed securely. The clock was originally nickle-plated, but typical of one of these century-old clocks, the nickle had worn off considerably and with just a quick cleaning on a buffing wheel, the underlying solid brass case and bell polished up to a beautiful luster.
