Antique 1905 Seth Thomas Victorian Adamantine 6 Column 8 Day Strike Mantel Clock
This interesting Victorian mantel clock was made in 1905 by Seth Thomas. Its been in our hallway for over 50 years; it worked when we first inherited it, but stopped working many years ago. Most likely, it needs to be cleaned and adjusted. Includes key (not pictured) and pendulum. I believe it is an eight-day time and strike, counting the hours and the half-hour. The clock is completely original, although I’m not sure if the key is original. Measures 18 x 11 x 6 and weighs approximately 11 lbs. The original label is still on the back, although part of it is missing. Black finish with orange marble design; solid wood. Metal feet and lion handles on the side. The six columns are celluloid. Adamantine is a celluloid veneer which is glued to the wood case. There are four 1/4 – 1/2 chips on the wood: three on the left side – one is just to the upper left of the leftmost column, and the other two are very close to the bottom of the leftmost column (they blend in with the orange marbling). The one on the right side is on the top right corner. There are some other small scuffs and scratches; Im unable to note every single flaw, so please look at all the pictures and ask any questions you may have. From a non-smoking, pet-free home.
