This clock has the black glow in dark radium dial. This clock came off the bulkhead of a U. It is sometimes referred to as a porthole clock because it operates the same way with hing and lock-down toggle. The clock case is stainless or aluminum (non-magnetic) and the wall bracket is made of bronze. The door to the clock face is glass and Bakelite in construction. The entire clock weighs about 15 pounds and is painted in a navy black coating. Contains original fittings, lights and dials for adjustment and running in the dark. Probably from the late 1800s to early 1900s. 13 3/4 inches tall , 10 7/8 inches wide , and 7 3/8 inches depth. Original SETH THOMAS # 113A mechanical movement. The finish is good with mild wear. It does come with the pendulum and correct size key. I did get the clock to run all day and it worked well. It chimes every 15 minutes and on the hour. This is a working ships clock, salvaged from a Great Lakes ore freighter, that is part of the collection of Dennis Hale, the man who was the lone survivor of the wreck of the DANIEL J. MORRELL in Lake Huron on November 29, 1966. It comes with an interesting story! The clock is made by Seth Thomas Company and is a pilothouse clock, model E537-001 Helmsman, circa 1935.
