1918 (Seth Thomas type) Beehive Style Mantel Clock. In excellent working condition, some facial wear from long use, original finish – never oiled to my knowledge, w/pendulum weight and winding key. This clock sat upon my grandparents mantel as a child. Hearing the chime again after 60yrs, brought tears to this 75y/o mans eyes. This clock runs fine as does the chime. Seth Thomas Fancy Black Adamantine Mantle Clock – Restored. The Adamantine is in cosmetically impeccable chip free condition. No dings or dents. Very unusual to find because the clock is from the late 1800’s/early 1900’s. The brass feet and other décor on the clock are just beautiful with a slight aging with age. The 3-5/8 Seth Thomas movement has been recently oiled and a couple of brass bushings replaced. There is a beautiful new replica porcelain like (but in a coated paper) dial that can be wiped off with a damp cloth to keep it clean. This is a very Unique styled clock, it was named the Detroit by Seth Thomas and his Staff. It is circa 1880 (+) (-) 3 years. It is 19 1/2″ High with a 6″ dial. As you can see the dial is losing it’s finish, but with proper care by touching as little as possible it will stay intact much longer. The Dial House, online, will restore the dial to like new if you want to. This is as found, however, I do inspect, test and make minor adjustments , as well as cleaning the case as much as possible.
