Seth Thomas clock c1918. Mahogany with inlaid design on front. Includes key and shim. It appears to be a Prospect model, however the inlaid design on the front is identical to a Progress model from 1915, but unlike the Progress, it is not an alarm clock. It chimes on the half hour and hour. All original and it works! On a level surface it needs a shim or a penny under the right side to keep ticking (although servicing may fix this). I tested it and everything worked great for 3 weeks, and then one day when it did the hour gong, it didn’t stop gonging until it ran out of wind. If you wind up the gong, when it gets to the hour, it gongs until it runs out of wind. I think oil must have gotten somewhere it wasn’t supposed to get. Offering this rare and beautiful Art Nouveau mantel clock by Seth Thomas. It features a lithe fairy figure on one side of the clock’s pillar and a cherub on the other side. The fairy has a realistic face and body and moth-like wings, and the cherub is a typical Cupid-style figure with a mandolin. You are looking at an. Antique Seth Thomas Reverse Print Mantel Clock. The clock is around 14.5″ tall, 10.25″ wide, 4.5 deep, all sizes approximate. The clock does run, but the time accuracy hasn’t been checked. Comes with pendulum and key. Original paper is still inside the clock. The clock’s case is in good condition.
