Here is a very nice condition “Adamantine” finish 8 day time and strike mantle clock made by the Seth Thomas Clock Co. In Thomaston, Connecticut during the early 1900’s. This clock is in a walnut woodgrain or brown marble style Adamantine finish. The brass bezel and painted dial assembly is in very nice condition. This clock features a signed Seth Thomas #89 series movement, which is in good running condition, keeping time and striking properly, counting the hour, i. 1 gong at 1:00, 2 gongs at 2:00, etc. And announcing the half hour with a single toll. It is a quality movement that, if properly maintained, should last many lifetimes. The “Adamantine” finish, which is a patented laminate finish from the late 1800’s, is also quite nice. Overall it is a great looking clock. With all adamantime clocks you will notice a little shrinkage at the corners and edges, and some cracking here and there, minor touch-ups, as well as minor dings, dents and scuffs, which is the nature of the Adamantine finish. It is a thin laminate over soft wood, similar to our plastic, and so shrinks, cracks and dents fairly easily with just normal use over time, but as seen in the pictures, this is in amzing conditon. It is complete with a key and pendulum and is ready to place up on the mantle and enjoy. The measurements are 16 ¼” wide x 9 ½” high x 7 deep. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. All sales are final, so please be sure that you will be happy by reviewing the pictures and descriptions that we provide. We honestly want you to be happy. It is nearly impossible to find one in “mint” condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. Here is a scarce mid century modern Seth Thomas MCM Electric Chiming Clock, very nicely preserved from the 1960’s -70’s, pictured. Clock has good original electric cord and still works well, striking hours and half hours, not tested for accuracy. With age associated wear and tarnish to polished brass surfaces. The video shows the clock working; however, as with many clocks, it may work intermittently. Sometimes these clocks function well, and other times they may stop. Thank you for your understanding. The clock coming with key & Tim mechanical movement with 9 inch dial and Roman numerals and mechanical calendar movement with 12 inch dial and Arabic numerals. The clock case has good vintage condition, and has crack on back door case. Width set point 13 inches. Deep 4.5 inches. Please review all pictures for overall condition and size, as THIS forms the overall condition/description of the item. Wear is consistent with age and use. Has some scratches, cracked veneer, scuffs, loose face, paint loss and chips, dust, etc. Review pictures closely for overall condition. It is as found, we haven’t tried to wind it or move the hands. It has a weight with it. Unsure what it needs to get going and is untested overall. It most certainly will need some service and cleaning. The part of the body that has the dial attached, needs to be secured to the main body and is loose. Looks to be missing some bolts or dowels to hold it there. Dial looks hand painted. Wood looks to be burl, probably walnut burl and the 2 trim pieces on the side looks Mahogany. Beautiful grain and wood has very nice dark, rich patina all over the clock. It is a beautiful piece that needs some TLC. Measurements are in the photos/details. Please message us with any questions, we respond fast. Please allow up to 2/3 days for large items, though we do get those out faster than that a lot of the time. Will be packed very well and fully insured. REVIEW ALL PICTURES CLOSELY.
