Unusual Antique Seth Thomas 8 Day Inlay Mantle Clock W/ Porcelain Dial Runs. This nice looking and unusually styled clock was made by the Seth Thomas Clock Company in Thomaston, Conn. This model features a signed Seth Thomas 48 R 8 day movement that is in good running and gonging order. It counts out each hour, i. 1 gong at 1:00, 2 gongs at 2:00, etc. On a high quality flat coil gong that has a great resonating sound, and announces each half hour with a single toll. The case is classic in style and craftsmanship. It is still in the original finish and has aged beautifully over the years. Measures 12 high x 8 wide x 6 deep. The original signed porcelain enamel dial and solid brass bezel with beveled edge glass assembly is also in great condition. This was actually the practice of the Seth Thomas Clock Co. We will include easy to re-install instructions, which basically requires putting the gong stand back in its hole and fastening the nut from underneath. This clock comes complete with a key and the original pendulum. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. All sales are final, so please be sure that you will be happy by reviewing the pictures and descriptions that we provide. We honestly want you to be happy. It is nearly impossible to find one in “mint” condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. Once in awhile we do offer other types of antiques and collectibles for sale, but mainly clocks are what we’re about. We are a very small, family run enterprise.. Ben handles all repairs in house. He has been restoring clocks since 1976, and a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors since 1978. Jen and Lana handle all of the pictures, listings, marketing and design, as well as some of the restoration work. Antique Circa 1895 Nickel Plated Carriage / Lantern Style 2 Bell Alarm Clock – RARITY – RUNS. Operating condition – Tested – I have many clocks to test and limited time to do so, This clock wound nicely it runs ticks, and keeps good time, tho i did have to shake it to get it started but it did stop after awhile, but then if you shake it, it will start to run again. This is typical of these type of antique movements and This tells me the movement needs a cleaning or oiling, who knows if it have ever been done in the last 130ish years. I did oil the movement tho i didnt take it completely out of the housing and from what i can tell it will need a proper cleaning by a clocksmith for long term operation and the one wheel seems not turn freely enough for it to keep running, i can tell this because i can help the wheel along with my finger and it will run fine. Antique Circa 1860s – 1870s American Clock Company Iron Front Parlor Mantle Clock – NEEDS HELP – FINISH ME – UNUSUAL. Features – Has original finish with mother of pearl inlay 19″ tall X 13″ VERY Decorative and heavy. Prior owner was in the process of trying to complete this clock. The wood backing is era correct to the iron frame but not original to the frame but it works as a backing. I believe the iron front to be an American Clock Company front which will also fit with the backing cause it has original American Clock Co paper inside and probably why the original owner choose it for to go with the front. Antique 1890s Faux Marble Ingraham Parlor / Mantle Clock – VIDEO – UNUSUAL – SERVICED. Movement – 8 Day – Time & Strike – Prior owner cleaned this movement about a year ago. Dial – Original – Marked Ingraham. Operating condition – I have many clocks to test and limited time to do so – Tested – I ran this clock for about 2 hours it ran fine and the 1/2 hour bell and hour strike functioned as intended. Please understand i do not know the service history of this clock, and it MAY need service in the future for long term optimal operation. Features – 11″ tall X 16″ Wide – High Quality example.
