SETH THOMAS Antique 1880 Faux Marble Mantel Clock 13.5x 10.5x 6 Time & Strike

Brown Adamantine faux marble exterior. Measurements approx: length 13.5″, height 10.5″, width 6. Weight 6 lbs 8 oz. Numbered at the bottom 4981 H. Antique September 7th, 1880. Not tested – keys are missing (any same-type-clock keys will work). Eing a used item, there are signs of prior use on it like a few body abrasions, a little fading, staining and general wear. (see photos), but overall it is still in a good condition. I do my very best to inspect each piece, note every imperfection I may see and support my findings with photos. They may show imperfections and signs of prior use like a few body abrasions, a little fading or staining. All items are described to the best of my ability and knowledge. A handsome and completely authentic antique Seth Thomas tambour mantel clock, dating to the late 1940s, offered unaltered and uncleaned for collectors who value originality. This clock retains its original wood finish, original dial, original brass movement, and original patina throughout. It is currently running well and striking correctly on the hour and half-hour, just as intended. No polishing, refinishing, or cosmetic alterations have been performed. What you see is an honest, well-preserved example that has survived decades without being over-restored. Maker: Seth Thomas. Era: Late 1940s. Movement: Original Seth Thomas brass time & strike movement (48J). Strike: Hour & half-hour strike on coil gong. Case: Solid wood tambour case with original finish. Dial: Original Seth Thomas dial with Arabic numerals. Bezel: Original brass, hinged with glass. Includes correct winding key. Runs, strikes, and keeps time. Light wear to case edges consistent with age. Dial shows light spotting appropriate for an original example. No cracks, structural repairs, or replaced components. The clock is in good overall condition for its age. The clock has a Victorian style with Black wood body and tan faux marble. The clocks faux marble side accents are made of Adamantine veneer. The clocks dial is a gold metal with Arabic indices. The clock is in working condition and comes with pendulm and winding key. The clock strikes on the hour and half hour. The sides of the clock have what looks to be Mercury head ornamtation. The back cover that covers the movement has been replaced with a piece of wood. The original must have been taken off and miss placed at some point in its life. Clock measures 14.5Nice mantal clock far a fair price. Item pictured is the item you will receive. Antique Seth Thomas “Beehive” 8 Day Time & Strike Mantle Clock Serviced. View My Other Items For Sale. This nice old clock was made by the Seth Thomas Clock Company in Thomaston, Conn. USA during the 1920’s. This model features a signed Seth Thomas #89 movement that has been serviced and is in good running condition, keeping time and gonging properly. It has the nice old signed Seth Thomas silvered dial that is in good aged condition with great authentic wear and shading, and it still has the original “ST” hands. The case finish is also very nice, showing off the beautiful wood grain. This clock has been very well taken care of over the years. The case measurements are 8″ wide x 11 ½” high x 6 deep. This clock comes complete with a key and pendulum. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. All sales are final, so please be sure that you will be happy by reviewing the pictures and descriptions that we provide. We honestly want you to be happy. It is nearly impossible to find one in “mint” condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. Once in awhile we do offer other types of antiques and collectibles for sale, but mainly clocks are what we’re about. We are a very small, family run enterprise.. Ben handles all repairs in house.
