NICE ANTIQUE SETH THOMAS MANTLE CLOCK. THIS CLOCK IS STRING WEIGHT DRIVEN AS YOU CAN SEE THE WEIGHTS. THEY LOOK NICE, GOOD SHAPE FOR THE AGE. STRING HAS BEEN REPLACED, NOT SURE WHEN. CLOCK COMES WITH A PENDULUM AS SHOWN AS WELL AS THE ORIGNAL KEY FOR THIS CLOCK. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURES, IT ONLY HAS ONE CLOCK HAND. THE SQUARE METAL DECORATIVE FACE HAS BEEN REPLACED, SOME ONE NAMED “GLENN” REPAINTED THIS PIECE. DIDN’T KNOW GLENN, BUT HE SIGNED HIS NAME ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FACE PLATE. CLOCK WORKS ARE MARKED S. THE WOOD CASE IS NICE, STILL I THINK. IT DOES HAVE SCRATCHING ON EACH ONE OF THE COLUMN PILLARS. YOU WILL ALSO SEE IN A COUPLE OF PLACES WHERE THE VENEER IS MISSING, CHIPPED IN A COUPLE OF PLACES. NOW, WE STARTED THIS CLOCK FOR A WHILE, IT RAN FOR AN HOUR THE FIRST TIME, THEN STOPPED. I WOUND IT UP A BIT, IT RAN SOME MORE, MAYBE A COUPLE HOURS THEN STOPPED AGAIN. IT NEEDS SOME ATTENTION TO IT AND A GOOD CLEANING WOULD BE GREAT FOR THE CLOCK WORKS. NOT SURE OF THE AGE OF THIS CLOCK, BUT I DO THINK IT’S EARLY 1900’S, MAYBE OLDER, NOT SURE. THIS IS A 30 HOUR COLUMN PILLAR CLOCK THAT WILL NEED TO BE WOUND EVERY DAY. HAS A VERY DEEP “GONG” SOUND, SOUNDS AMAZING. BEAUTIFUL GOLD COLOR ETCHING OF WHAT LOOKS LIKE “MARY WITH HER LAMB”. ETCHING IS VERY NICE AS WE HAVE SHOWN. MEASUREMENTS FOR THIS ITEM ARE – 25 INCHES TALL, 14 3/4 INCHES ACROSS THE FRONT BASE AND IS 4 1/2 INCHES WIDE. WEIGHT OF THIS MANTEL CLOCK IS 15.4 POUNDS. NO, WE WON’T. IT’S HEAVY AS HECK, COMES WITH THE HEAVY WEIGHTS, THE ETCHED GLASS FRONT AND I JUST DON’T NEED THE HEADACHES. I PACK AND WRAP REALLY WELL, BUT SOMETIMES THING’S HAPPEN.
