Brown Adamantine faux marble exterior. Measurements approx: length 13.5″, height 10.5″, width 6. Weight 6 lbs 8 oz. Numbered at the bottom 4981 H. Antique September 7th, 1880. Not tested – keys are missing (any same-type-clock keys will work). Eing a used item, there are signs of prior use on it like a few body abrasions, a little fading, staining and general wear. (see photos), but overall it is still in a good condition. I do my very best to inspect each piece, note every imperfection I may see and support my findings with photos. They may show imperfections and signs of prior use like a few body abrasions, a little fading or staining. All items are described to the best of my ability and knowledge. The clock is fitted with a high-quality 8-day mechanical movement, recently serviced and cleaned. It runs smoothly, keeps good time, and strikes the hours clearly on a gong, with the correct strike count throughout all twelve hours. The wooden case remains structurally sound and displays its original proportions and detailing. At some point in the late 20th century the case was over-stained; this has now been carefully cleaned, stabilised, and finished with wax, resulting in an attractive, even tone with honest age-related patina. There is a small section of moulding missing to the rear edge of the case. This does not affect function, stability, or the front-facing appearance and is reflected in the price. SETH THOMAS 89 HIGH STRIKE TAMBOUR CLOCK MOVEMENT 1 7/32 INCH NOSE. REBUILT WITH NEW SUSPENSION ROD AND NEW LEVER SPRING WIRE. THIS MOVEMENT HAS BEEN DISASSEMBLED, ULTRASONICALLY CLEANED AND ALL PARTS POLISHED, DAMAGED OR WORN PARTS ARE REPAIRED OR REPLACED. BUSHINGS ARE REPLACED AS. MAIN SPRINGS WERE UNWOUND. THE MOVEMENT WAS THEN REASSEMBLED, OILED AND SET IN BEAT. THE TIME AND STRIKE FUNCTION AS SHOULD THE CLOCK GONGS THE HOUR AND GONGS ON THE 1/2 HOUR. I SET MY CLOCKS UP ON A TEST STAND FOR 8 DAYS TO ENSURE THE TIME AND STRIKE FUNCTION PROPERLY. THIS CLOCK IS READY FOR A CASE, PLEASE REMEMBER IT IS LEVEL LT AND RT AND FORWARD AND AFT ON MY TEST STAND YOUR CASE SHOULD BE CLOSE THE SAME.
