00 4-BELL – 1914. For offer is this beautiful Seth Thomas Chime Clock No. 00 4 bell Sonora that was produced in the year of 1914. The original adamantine finish on the Mahogany wood case is in great condition as the pictures will show. The adamantine finish along with the man made character marks on the top is considered in great shape and the shape of this clock is simple yet pleasing to the eye. This clock has a strong, smooth running, rebuilt 89 AE movement that. Been keeping excellent, consistent time for the past weeks. The 90 H Sonora movement has also been rebuilt and is functioning properly as it should. Both movements have an upgraded high polished back plate that have a mirror like finish. All the best features are on this model. Dark, Arabic numbers on a 5-inch silvered dial that shows little wear and gilt ornamental corners that can be clearly seen/read from a distance. Signature Seth Thomas Blue steel spade shaped hour and minute hands. Gilt brass feet at each corner bearing their original finish. No scratches or chips on the original flat glass. The original adamantine finish on the wood framed front door the panel back door opens and closes properly as they should. This model is equipped with 4-Sonora patented resonated bells. With silent chime lever for the quarter hour chimes only that you can see and hear each quarter hour followed by the full Westminster chime with hour strike in the video provided. The original boy on fence pendulum bob and the original two-sided key come with the clock. The back panel door has its original set up label/instruction on it. Being a model that is not seen often in the public market, along with having the original bob, instruction label and key make this clock very desirable and highly sought after. Every aspect of this clock is fully functional. Disassemble the entire clock and movements myself completely. Bush all worn pivot holes with Burgeon bronze bushings as needed. Clean the entire movement ultrasonically. Clean the original dial being careful not to alter its original condition. If the dial is to far gone, it will be professionally silvered and restored back to Seth Thomas dial specifications. Clean bezel, parts and chime rods by hand. Clean the outside of the original finish by hand with mild cleaners as well as the inside and apply a coat of wax by hand. I will never alter the finish or farm out the clock not knowing what is being done to the clock. This does decrease the value of a clock. Reassemble the clock, oil and lube in the proper places. Adjust chime and strike hammer sequence properly to assure smooth and even strikes at each quarter-hour and hour. Electronically regulate the beat and adjust the speed while the clock is level to ensure accuracy for many generations. Inspect and adjust every minor detail of the clock assuring full function and peak performance for many years to come. Test the clock for a minimum of two weeks to ensure peak and proper performance for the new owner. Smoke free, pet free home. All clocks are cleaned removing odors. The Sonora chime line of Seth Thomas clocks are some of the most complex and beautiful sounding clocks the company ever produced. The time keeping mechanism has a few lifter arms that tell the chiming mechanism when to activate the quarter chimes and the hour strike. When working properly, they sound incredible. Offered here is a Seth Thomas Sonora chime mantle clock. I did a lot of research, and the closest I could narrow down the manufacturing date is 1914 – 1921. As I said, I know nothing about clocks, but similar images elsewhere on the web say that S. Eth Thomas clocks with this particular inlaid design in a beehive case are often referred to as Model 64 or 264. Antiqueclockspriceguide says a clock identical to the one offered here (right down to the chime movement model and rods) is Model 64-A. I don’t know the correct model number – just providing you with the info I found. When working, this clock plays a chime melody on 4 steel rods. Late in their Sonora production, Seth Thomas changed over from bells to rods to compete with less expensive imports. This clock still has the sturdy separate chime movement Model No. 119 manufactured by Mayland. This clock has winding at 3 o’clock. When I found this clock, I opened the back and discovered a bubble wrapped bag with a bunch of bits and pieces that the former owner clearly wanted to keep with the clock. I’ve identified some of those pieces as the pendulum and the key. Sections of broken spring from the time keeping mechanism. I don’t know if there is anything else wrong with the innards other than that. As for the case, it is mahogany wood with satinwood inlay. The finish has extensive alligatoring, but there are only a few very shallow surface scratches. If you find your joy in rescuing and restoring antique clocks, I hope you’ve just found your next Labor of Love in this piece. This is a weighty piece of history! That way, you can select the carrier that is cheapest or fastest for you, depending on your priorities. Please examine the photos and description carefully, and ask questions if you are unsure.

This clock is a cathedral style with Sonora 4 bells chimes. It is a larger clock 11.5×7.5×14. The finish is the patented celluloid in a red tone with graining on 3 sides and top. The finish is still beautiful and over 100 years old. It plays the famous Sonora 4 bell Westminster chimes on the quarter, half, 3/4 and full hour. The clock face is 5″ diameter the silver finish is average, the brass bezel is 5.5″ and the beveled glass is 5.5 in not scratched. The clock keeps good time and strong tic toc. The chimes will need a cleaning. I removed the chime for lubing and when setting tipped play continuously but when installed in the clock level will stop occasionally. I have the brass ST key and the instructions are on the back cover. I will be listing all of my old collection of vintage/antique clocks including my Hamilton chime clock 340-020 in last photo. I will provide more photos/details.

My father owned this clock. He collected clocks many years ago. It is complete with the key the pendulum it does not have a back covering, which I believe should be a thin piece of wood overall condition of this clock I would say it’s very good. I push the pendulum and it seems to continue working. Could it need adjustments somewhere on this clock, possibly that I would not know about if there’s any other pictures or anything I could help with don’t hesitate.
