The clock is the Mayflower type and I was told it was made in the 1920’s or 30’s. Either way it keeps very good time, strike’s, 8 day wind and original unpolished chrome. The only thing I cannot do is shut off the strike. See all the pictures and this clock needs a home!

Sound Opening on Bottom. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself. A nice looking patinaed brass lacquer look case on this clock. Would guess the clock dates to just before the WWII period. Has no markings on the back of the case. An uncommon feature with this clock is the sound venting on the bottom of the case. An uncommon, but ingenious feature to allow the strike of the clock to be heard over a larger area. The bezel (door) is attached to the rest of the case. Flat glass in the bezel is intact. Just some minor surface scratching to the glass, no cracks or blistering. The clock has been running since we acquired it. Think this is a 3 day movement, not an 8 day. The springs feel sound on the movement when keyed. The clock’s hands all move as they should including the seconds hand. The clock strikes as expected but the strike hammer does need adjusting, as rings dully when goes off. The clock will come with a wind key. The clock face shows some discoloration, wear to finish, and fading from age and is intact. The clock has both its’ minute and hour hands as well as the seconds hand. Brass case is 7″ across, by 3-7/8″ tall. The clock face is 5 across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Make sure that this clock meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it.
