This is a lovely small crystal regulator with an extended 15 day movement. It strikes hours and half hours on a cathedral gong. The movement has all cut steel pinions with heavy plates and is marked with the name of its designer, R. Kaiser, an engineer at Seth Thomas and is unique and highly collectable. The case retains its original gold plating in very good condition and the glass panels are intact. The clock measures 8 1/2 H x 5 1/4 W x 4 1/2 D, with a 3 inch porcelain dial. An included image shows the clock’s relative size compared to other crystal regulators. (not include in this offering) The pendulum is a faux mercury compensating design and a duplex key is included. This clock has been serviced: cleaned and oiled with parts repaired or replaced as necessary to run.

Antique Seth Thomas Crystal Regulator Clock. Striking When Manually Set, Not Running. Beautiful Gold Gilt Case. Would make a great gift for a special occasion or keep for yourself! What looks to be an orange/red color on the back of the movement and gong is not really there. Just a reflection off of what the photographer was wearing that day. This style clock does not come to the market very often. Made by Seth Thomas in the early 1900s. This is the Empire No. This clock probably dates to the early 1900s. The top and bottom pieces may have been re-gilded at some juncture. The corners of the actual case appear to have the original finish. They show some finish loss. The front and rear bezels are on hinges and attached to the clock case. Both doors are still secured well. The side glass pieces are still intact and beveled. There is no cracking or blistering of any of the beveled glass pieces. The gold colored lacquer finish on the clock shows some minor loss in places. Most notably on the top of the clock case. Nice porcelain face with an antique white background with black numbering. A hairline in the face at the 10 o’clock mark. The grommets are both in place. Some minor chipping around the right wind hole. The pendulum has two glass vials that hold lead ingots. One of the glass vials is broken, see pic. This is the model 48N movement as noted on the back plate. The clock will strike when the hands are advanced manually, but just keeps striking. The clock does not have a beat when set up the pendulum. Did oil the back pinions, but does not run. The movement is an 8 day movement. The strike and wind springs are wound tightly. He clock will come with a newer wind key. This is a time and gong wire strike clock. The clock stands 14-3/8″ tall, by 8″ across, by 7 wide. The clock face is 3.25″/3.75″ across. Antique Seth Thomas Crystal Regulator Empire. Good condition see pictures. I had this serviced a little over a year ago and it has worked fine until I moved it, now it is out of beat and I cant seem to get it to stay running. The suspension spring has a kink in it, see last picture. One of glass tubes on the faux mercury pendulm has a piece missing at the top causing it to lean inward, please also see second to last picture. Measures 9 1/2″ tall x 5 1/2″ deep x 7 wide at the base.

This rare original zinc dial is in very good original condition with good original solid dial paint as shown in the photos , and having some strengthening to most of the numerals and lines. Dial presents very well. Measures 11 5/8″ outer diameter, 1 1/2″ between the center of the center hole and the center of the winding hole, 1 15/16 between the center of the center hole and the center of the seconds hole.
