This is a Plymouth (made by Seth Thomas) Tambour style Mantel clock, 8 day, hour and half hour strike on double chime rods. It has a large 5 1/2 inch dial in 2 colors (black and gold) behind a brass bezel with a convex lens. The overall size of the case is 20 L x 9 1/2 H x 6 1/4 D and features a 4503 movement. The clock is complete with a duplex key and pendulum. The clock has been serviced: cleaned and oiled with parts repaired or replaced as necessary to run.

This clock features a solid brass 8-day movement stamped. Thomas – Plymouth, Conn. A hallmark of authentic 19th-century American clockmaking. The clock has a paper Roman numeral dial with original hand-decorated corner details and a spiral steel gong strike, producing a classic deep chime. The wooden case retains its original black finish with contrasting inner molding. The lower glass reveals the original Victorian floral decorative paper backing, which shows age-appropriate wear and a small tear (see photos), consistent with an untouched antique piece. Type: Shelf Clock / Mantel Clock. Era: Late 19th Century (Pre-1900). Power Source: Mechanical (Wind-Up). Features: 8-Day Movement, Strike Gong. Country/Region of Manufacture: United States. This is a true antique (over 130 years old). Minor wear, patina, dial aging, and cosmetic imperfections are expected and part of its historical character. A great example for collectors, decorators, or restoration enthusiasts. Running condition not guaranteed due to age. Clock may benefit from professional cleaning or servicing for optimal accuracy.
