This Has a White Porcelain Dial with Arabic Numerals, Signed “Seth Thomas”, in Good Condition! The Case is a Silveroid Nickel Silver Open Face Case, in Good Original Condition. The Watch is Large and is Size 18s. The Movement is a High End 15 Jewel Mechanical Wind-Up Movement, and is signed Seth Thomas Thomaston Conn. Antique Circa 1895 Nickel Plated Carriage / Lantern Style 2 Bell Alarm Clock – RARITY – RUNS. Operating condition – Tested – I have many clocks to test and limited time to do so, This clock wound nicely it runs ticks, and keeps good time, tho i did have to shake it to get it started but it did stop after awhile, but then if you shake it, it will start to run again. This is typical of these type of antique movements and This tells me the movement needs a cleaning or oiling, who knows if it have ever been done in the last 130ish years. I did oil the movement tho i didnt take it completely out of the housing and from what i can tell it will need a proper cleaning by a clocksmith for long term operation and the one wheel seems not turn freely enough for it to keep running, i can tell this because i can help the wheel along with my finger and it will run fine. SEE VIDEO – Alarm functions as intended when tested – This clock will need a proper cleaning / service for long term proper operation and with the condition and rarity its certainly deserving of that.
