It’s our yearly Spring Clean Up Sales Event!! A 1973 model made by E. SCHMECKENBECHER Cuckoo Clock house in Germany. The housing was reinforced with wood glue internally to keep it strong for another 50 years. The back door was previously made but we installed New Bellow Tops, Chains and Pendulum. All metal parts including the movement was cleaned and then oiled, then test-run. The little Bison & Moose on the front bottom are not glued in place. The music box plays an unknown melody at the top of every hour as the dancers do a ¼ turn as it goes around (see video). The clock was test-run for 4 days before packaging. 13 inches high by 9 inches across and about 6 inches deep. Comes with a Numerical Certificate and with easy pictured set-up instructions. VERY RARE Seth Thomas MUSICAL BOX mantel clock. Made by SETH THOMAS in the late 1800’s. Original Seth Thomas built in music box. Adamantine top and bottom ledges. Decorative feet on front and back. Decorative metal pieces on both sides and underneath clock face. Decorative gold tone clock surround and middle. From what I could find on this clock…. And there wasnt much. The music box was built into approximately 1 in every 10,000 clocks they made! No chips or cracks in glass. The body is in good condition with only light signs of age and wear. The back bottom panel is no longer there. The rear metal door opens and closes with no issues. The front bezel also opens and closes with no issues. The clock does tic but does not sound. The bottom middle decorative piece is missing a piece. The front clock paper is a replacement. The movement looks to be a replacement. Original to the clock: Music box. All decorative metal pieces. Past replacements: Clock face paper. Please keep in mind that this is an antique. May or may not need serviced as it is over 100 years old. 11 1/4″ tall, 16 1/2″ wide, and 7 deep. ANTIQUE SETH THOMAS MUSICAL MANTEL CLOCK WITH MUSIC BOX AND GONG! Listen to it play as you read! Musical Seth Thomas clocks are a considerable rarity and this one gongs on the hour as well as plays a darling double tune music box at the same time. Black Adamantine finish with marbling alpaca as well as gold highlights on the case. This beautiful mantle clock measures17across the base. As it runs, the ticking is almost inaudible, so if you wanted to operate the clock without the gong or music box, either action can be silenced. I would date this piece to the late 1880’s by the type of musical movement in it as well as by the two tunes it plays. Don’t miss this wonderful piece as they are extremely rare and it keeps great time, too.
