A Seth Thomas Model 102 from the 1880s in a stunning faux burl wood adamantine finish with a deep, rich luster. The finish came to us in good condition and we have used our neutral cleaner and applied a coat of hard wax and done minor cleaning to the copper accents. The movement is of the period but does not appear to be the original movement housed in the case (based on mounting holes inside the case). Movement has been cleaned, lubricated, adjusted and keeps excellent time with a bell on the half hour and gong on the hour. The clock came to us from an area collector. Condition: the clock is in full working order, both time and strike, and has been run continuously in our workshop without incident. A small area of finish is lacking on one corner and is pictured in the images. The original dial has some toning and the usual marks around the winding arbors. Most of the original label on the back is still present but very toned. The photographs are an integral part of the condition statement. The clock is 16.5 inches wide, 6.5 inches depth and 11.5 inches in height. Pre-packing weight 8 lb 13 oz. We are happy to consider your reasonable offers. SETH THOMAS TAMBOUR – 1915. For offer is this granddaddy of all tambours. The largest mantel clock Seth Thomas ever made. The picture is just to give you an idea or reference in the size of this clock. The clock case is made from solid mahogany and shows very few character marks on the back top which can all be seen in the pictures. The case is a huge cylinder shape of holding the dial is accented atop a scroll like pattern on each side of the dial and a hand carved leaf design at each end of the clock. The molded edge to the front and sides of the base give this clock a solid foundation. Please use the zoom feature and enlarge the pictures to see all the details of this clock. This clock offers a large 8-inch convex silvered dial in very good condition showing wear with raised bronze numbers that can be read clearly from a distance and bronze serpentine hour and minute hands to compliment the dial. It even has the original grommets around the winding holes that give this clock a classy look. This clock also features a machined clasp heavy sash that has been cleaned without removing the original patina which opens and closes properly as it should. The original convex beveled glass has no chips or scratches in it. The brass back circular door opens and closes properly as it should and has a floral design to let the cathedral gong decay through the back. The material or cloth has been replaced. This clock has its original lollipop shaped cathedral gong, original bob and the original two sided key. Every aspect of this clock is fully functional. This model is equipped with an 89 movement that was the workhorse of all Seth Thomas movements that has a solid brass back plate and an open front plate that was completely rebuilt by me. This clock strikes the hour and half-hour on a resonant brass cathedral bell gong that is pleasing to the ear. The following procedures are done to each and every clock that I sell and none of the pictures are reused from a previous sale. Disassemble the entire clock and movement myself completely. Install Seth Thomas parts on the movement when needed. Bush all worn pivot holes as needed with superior Burgeon bronze bushings. Clean the entire movement ultrasonically. Clean the original dial sash and glass making sure not to alter the finish. Clean bezel, parts and chime by hand. Clean the outside of the original finish by hand with mild cleaners as well as the inside and apply a coat of wax by hand. Keep the original finish in tact. If you’re looking for “restored to new”, “looks like day one” or “altered” then don’t look here. This does decrease the value of the clock. Reassemble the clock, oil and lube in the proper places. Adjust chime and strike hammer sequence properly to assure smooth and even strikes at each hour and half-hour. Electronically regulate the beat and adjust the speed to ensure accuracy for many generations. Inspect and adjust every minor detail of the clock assuring full function and peak performance for many years to come. Test the clock for a minimum of two weeks to ensure peak and proper performance for the new owner. Smoke free, pet free home. All clocks are cleaned odors removed. Instructions for set up provided, contact number for on going support and discounted maintenance or repair for your clock. This clock measures 14″ H X 32 ½” W X 9 D that will give your home a sense of warmth and charm complimenting any room with its beauty and sound. The Seth Thomas 8 Day Keywound Clock, model E899-159 ISS. 3 # 6705, is a vintage banjo clock from the mid 20th century. This clock features a mechanical movement and a charming banjo shape, with a wood frame and brass accents. Approximately 30 inches in length from the very bottom to the top of the finial. About 9.25 inches wide at the bottom box and about 4 1/2 inches deep at the bezel glass to the back.

Has the original bob and is tested, it runs great without issue. The clock has run for days straight without stopping, runs like a dream and the chime and gong works great! I winded it near fully and the clock ran flawlessly the entire time until needing a new wind. Hard to find in this condition! Glass on the front is in good shape, has the back cover as well, missing the key. Clock runs and works as it should. The half hour bell and hour gong works and sounds great. This clock strikes on the half hour on a bell, the hours on a cathedral gong. See video for the gong and clock running. Half hour chine works as well. Some ware to the dial and some damages to adamantine as well as some yellowing etc but good original condition. I couldnt find the exact date mark but the label date to about 1906 or so. Label is 295 F and i believe the movement is model number 89. Only thing missing is the key. I used my universal the wind it. The lions on the side have an Egyptian revival style and almost look like monkeys in my opinion. See all photos and watch the video. Clock seems to keep good time and function as it should. I did not attempt. To clean or alter the clock in any way. May need a service in the future.

This is a classic maritime-style brass and wood timepiece made in Thomaston, Connecticut by the Seth Thomas Division of General Time Corporation. Wood base with engraved plaque (“With Sincere Appreciation – Navy League of the United States”). Working German movement by Hermle. (keeps accurate time and strikes accurately on the hour and half hour). Clean dial with both 12- and 24-hour markings. Original model label intact on back plate. Great condition – minor signs of age but no damage.

Really Cool Clock — Here’s what we know. It works – see below. The Brass base has been stamped as follows. Hitt 1981 suggesting it might be a 20 year employment or retirement award. The brass plate stamp likely places the date of manufacture to the early 1980’s. The bells work, but it looks like the hour hand needs to be adjusted two hours forward to align with the correct bell sequence. The unit has not been cleaned or unassembled except the face was removed to wind the clock. It comes with a key, but does not appear to be original. Appears to be Solid Wood – Might be Walnut but not sure. Please look at pictures carefully and make sure this is exactly what you want and you understand the condition of the clock.
