Highly desirable model due to it has a quality weight driven movement and a fancy detailed walnut cabinet. Clock also features its old brass cast iron weights as these are original to the clock as this weight driven clock runs off of two hooks at the top of the cabinet on each side. Movement is in good condition, it should be cleaned. Strike side works fine and it is working correctly also. Strike arm may need an adjustment. It requires a pulley on the time side as this one is not present. Suspension spring should be replaced as it sways when the pendulum is swinging causing the clock to swing out of beat. Original wavy glass that is in very good condition and is secure in the door. Seth Thomas locking door. This clock also features its old brass cast iron weights as these are original to the clock as this weight driven clock runs off of two hooks at the top of the cabinet on each side. The black label is in good condition also. The red stamp on the back indicates 1884 for the year built. The movement is in good condition, it should be cleaned. The strike side works fine and the count wheel is working correctly also. The strike arm may need an adjustment. Also the suspension spring should be replaced as it sways when the pendulum is swinging causing the clock to swing out of beat. This clock has many nice features, it retains its original untouched hand painted 8 inch dial, Seth Thomas Logo on the dial. Damascened Pendulum Disc along with the fancy brass gong & base. The gong flat wire requires replacing. Beautiful walnut/ebony cabinet that is in good condition it does require the floor reworked due to the weight hitting the bottom of the floor. It is missing a few of the decorative trim pieces at the top of the cabinet. This clock measures 29 1/2 inches in height by 15 13/16 inches in width. The glass is original and wavy. Up for sale is a Rare Seth Thomas Antique Parlor/Mantel Clock. This one is the Garfield model, which features a 2 weight regulator movement. This clock ran when tested and chimed on the hour. We inherited a number of clocks from a late relative. His notes indicate that he serviced it in Jan of 2020 (shortly before falling ill). It appears that he was in the process of re-fashioning a replacement for the bag right wooden leg (see photos). He had several pennies placed under the replacement leg for balance when we retrieved the clock. The case is quite gorgeous and is in overall good condition. A few minor scratches from age (see photos). 15 x 29.5 x 6 inches. This item is part of an inherited estate. We are not clock experts, so time accuracy is not guaranteed.
