SETH THOMAS 4 BELL SONORA CHIME CLOCK NO. 1 SPECIAL – ESTATE FIND. It is shown on page 148 of Tran Duy Lys Seth Thomas. Case dimensions are 15 inches wide by 13.5 inches high. The bezel fits well. The original porcelain dial has some. Issues (see picture 5). The winding arbor for the Sonora movement isn’t. I was able to wind it to try it out, and it does. The key is the correct size for winding and adjusting. The Adamantine finish is in generally in good condition. A couple of losses (pictures 7 and 8). Movement is signed No. The clock is in an as-found condition. The clock runs well, and the Sonora works. They are presently out of sync. This four bell Sonora Chime clocks may have larger bells than many of the Sonora Chime clocks that Seth Thomas made. The larger bells have a rich and deep tone. This clock should be fully serviced, there is no telling when it was done last. All descriptions are to the best of my ability. It is never my intent to mislead anyone. Please look carefully at the pictures to make sure you know what you are purchasing. The clock has normal wear and aging for a 110 year old clock. Expect to find dust, soot, scratches, dings, rub marks, dial paint losses, surface oxidation, alligatoring, etc. As With All Antique Clocks, You Will Need To Make Adjustments (Fine Tuning). SETH THOMAS 4 BELL SONORA CHIME CLOCK NO. 1 SPECIAL – ESTATE FIND. Offered for sale is a Seth Thomas Sonora Chime Clock No. It is shown on page 149 of Lys Seth Thomas book. Case dimensions are 15 inches wide by 13.5 inches high. The bezel fits well and still has the original beveled glass. The Adamantine finish is in good condition with no large flaws. Inside the back door, the original instruction label is still in very good condition and has the repair dates written on it. The clock also has the original brass over lead pendulum bob and a quality winding key complete with the ST logo. I can also provide a close-up picture of the label if you would like to see that as well. The clock is in an as-found condition. I oiled the springs and the clock ran and performed the strike and chime functions for a full week. At some point, the clock should be serviced to ensure years of flawless service. These four bell Sonora Chime clocks have larger bells than many of the Sonora Chime clocks that Seth Thomas made. The larger bells have a rich and deep tone. The clock may need some adjusting when it arrives. Instructions will be provided on how to reset the clock in the event that the chime and strike sequence gets off.
