Double Spring, Runs 7-5/8 Bezel. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself! Nice looking wall clock here. Made by the Seth Thomas Company in the USA. This is not the smaller 4 case model. This is the larger 7-5/8 case model. Would guess from design that the clock was made prior to WWII. The clock is most likely a 16 day mechanical brass movement with the two spring winds. No strike or chime here with this clock. Nice black colored composite case here. The numbering and minute marking are done in black on the antique white background face. The hands match and look appropriate to the clock. The seconds hand is also in place and moves as expected. The slow/fast adjustment lever is in place on the face of the clock, and seems to work as well. No grommets in place around the wind holes on the face. The black colored case is all there. No cracks or repairs to the case. Does show some minor lacquer loss to the case, mostly on the bezel and some discoloration on the sides of the case. The case has a gold composite bezel that is securely attached to it by a hinge. The glass is intact, no cracks or blistering to the glass. The knob to lock down the non-hinge side of the bezel is still with the clock. The clock has most likely a 16 day mechanical brass movement. No maker markings on the back plate of the movement. Did not look at the front plate. The wind springs feels sound when keyed. The clock will come with a vintage wind key. The clock is mounted on a beautiful mahogany wood plaque. Nice emblem shape to the wood plaque. A hanger ring is in place on the back of the plaque. The clock face is 5 across. The wood plaque is 14-3/8″ across by 17.5″ long, by 1 wide. Provenance Sheet: Seth Thomas Brass Maritime Clock. Seth Thomas Clock Company, Thomaston, Connecticut, USA. Solid Brass Case with Perforated Sound Cover. Unpolished, original patina preserved. (July 1939) stamped inside case. Mechanical, 8-day, dual mainspring (time + strike). Bulkhead or wall-mounted, typical of naval installations. Manufactured in July 1939, this clock predates the U. Entry into WWII and reflects Seth Thomas’s early naval production standards. This feature is consistent with pre-war naval clocks designed for both function and discretion. Original brass, unpolished with natural patina. Perforated brass side panel intact. Original winding key included. Functional; manually triggers chime, resets automatically. Preserving patina maintains historical integrity and collector value. Use dry microfiber cloth; avoid liquid cleaners or abrasives. Service movement every 5-7 years by qualified horologist. Advance minute hand slowly, allowing chime at each half hour. Keep in low-humidity environment; avoid direct sunlight or salt air exposure. Compare with Seth Thomas Mark I Deck Clock U. Scarce-pre-war brass-cased strike clocks with original components. Used for testing or manual bell activation in shipboard settings.

1876 vintage Antique 8 day Seth Thomas, Double Dial Calendar, Strike Clock, carving Walnut Case. The clock works as well as calendar & chime strike. The clock chime strike every hours on a bell. The video shows the clock working; however, as with many vintage clocks, it may work intermittently. Sometimes these clocks function well, and other times they may stop. Thank you for your understanding. The clock coming with key & Tim mechanical movement with 7.5 inch dial and Roman numerals and mechanical calendar movement with 7.5 inch dial and Arabic numerals. The clock case has good vintage condition, the top dial has been colored. & the wood veneer has small repair on right bottom side, we showed on last photo. Width set point 12.5 inches. Double Spring, Runs 7-5/8 Bezel. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself! Nice looking wall clock here. Made by the Seth Thomas Company in the USA. This is not the smaller 4 case model. This is the larger 7-5/8 case model. Would guess from design that the clock was made prior to WWII. The clock is most likely a 16 day mechanical brass movement with the two spring winds. No strike or chime here with this clock. Nice black colored composite case here. The numbering and minute marking are done in black on the antique white background face. The hands match and look appropriate to the clock. The seconds hand is also in place and moves as expected. The slow/fast adjustment lever is in place on the face of the clock, and seems to work as well. No grommets in place around the wind holes on the face. The black colored case is all there. No cracks or repairs to the case. Does show some minor lacquer loss to the case, mostly on the bezel and some discoloration on the sides of the case. The case has a gold composite bezel that is securely attached to it by a hinge. The glass is intact, no cracks or blistering to the glass. The knob to lock down the non-hinge side of the bezel is still with the clock. The clock has most likely a 16 day mechanical brass movement. No maker markings on the back plate of the movement. Did not look at the front plate. The wind springs feels sound when keyed. The clock will come with a vintage wind key. The clock is mounted on a beautiful mahogany wood plaque. Nice emblem shape to the wood plaque. A hanger ring is in place on the back of the plaque. The clock face is 5 across. The wood plaque is 14-3/8″ across by 17.5″ long, by 1 wide. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Make sure that this clock meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it.
