CLOCK WAS MANUFACTURED BY THE WELL-KNOWN CRAFTSMAN, SETH THOMAS AND SONS IN THE YEAR 1872. THIS LOVELY, ANTIQUE CLOCK CHIMES ON A RESONANT BELL ON THE HOUR AND HALF HOUR KEEPING GOOD TIME. THE CLOCK’S PORCELAIN DIAL AND BEVELED, FRONT GLASS DOOR IS IN PERFECT CONDITION. NO SCRATCHES, OR MARKS OF ANY KIND. THE ANGEL AND CHILD ARE BOTH SEEN IN SOLEMN PRAYER. CLOCK IS EITHER BRONZE OR CAST IRON METAL. I’M NOT SURE ABOUT THE EXACT MATERIAL. THE CLOCK HAS SOME WEIGHT. THIS BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE CLOCK WILL LOOK GREAT ON ANY MANTLE OR TABLE. At the close of the American Civil War in 1865, the Seth Thomas Clock Company formed a subsidiary known as Seth Thomas Sons & Company that existed until 1879 — primarily for the purpose of producing superior-grade mantle clocks with high quality 15-day brass movement mechanisms. A turn of the century Seth Thomas French Figural Clock. Slate case with Spelter figural mounts. It has and 8-day brass movement, with bell strikes on the hour and half hour. Nice porcelain dial is in very good condition with only a scratch at the key hole. Heavy bevel glass door also in very good condition with no cracks and chips. The figural statue is in very good shape with no cracks or no missing parts. Very small crack on the right front bottom foot of the clock. Come with a pendulum “bob” and key. Approximate dimensions are 15 1/2 tall, 15 1/2″ wide and a depth of 5 1/2″. Pictures are also a big part of the description.
