This Seth Thomas Chicago Shelf clock is in excellent condition. The clock’s exterior has been beautifully restored and looks excellent. The only issue is that when the door closes and is locked, there is a gap at the top of the clock (See HD pictures). We attempted multiple adjustments to fix this, but we were unsuccessful. The clock would have been made around the late 1800s. The movement has been properly cleaned and oiled and keeps very good time. The clock chimes on the hour. As you will notice in the video, the chimes do not sound nice. This is because back in this time period, most homes only had one clock. So the goal wasn’t to make a pretty sound, the goal was for this sound to be loud and heard throughout the whole house. So if you want a clock that makes a nice chiming sound, this is NOT the clock for you. The alarm mechanism does work, though I did not include that in the video. Setting the alarm on these antique clocks is a complicated process. Please inspect all the HD pictures closely.

This is an excellent Seth Thomas City Series Clock with a mahogany finish case, c. It is in good working order. It is an 8-day clock which chimes on the hour. It has the original hands and dial. The case is in good condition. Glass in doors appears to be original. The original label is still on the inside of the clock. The clock comes with a key which winds the clock, as well as locking the door in place. Approximate dimensions are 17 1/2 inches tall and 10 1/2 inches wide. It is running well and keeping good time. The location should be flat and the clock level. PLEASE NOTE: Although this clock is working well, it is an antique and can possibly develop problems at any time. It is not returnable so please be sure to read the listing and feel free to ask any question.
