This is a very rare complete example of a Seth Thomas 1899 carriage clock. This model is the exclusive with an alarm and a second hand. Original crystals all around unbroken unscratched for the most part the design on the Brass on the face of this is still very legible. The back is original, and opens and closes and latches handle is original and is on bent. The gears are all clean both the alarm and the time wind easily I mean this is one of the best examples of this clock that I have ever seen the beveled Crystal alone is impossible to find. Operating condition – Tested – I have many clocks to test and limited time to do so, This clock runs but had to be shaken to get it started, so i oiled it a bit and it ran nicely but i would suggest getting the movement cleaned or keep it oiled at the very least, because who knows when if ever has that been done in the last 140ish years. Features – All Original – 8.5″ tall X 6″ Wide – High Quality example. Clock Body – Condition is as seen – Please see ALL photos you be the judge. Good example visually – No dents or damage present on body. Does have some finish wear. Antique Circa 1895 Nickel Plated Carriage / Lantern Style 2 Bell Alarm Clock – RARITY – RUNS. Operating condition – Tested – I have many clocks to test and limited time to do so, This clock wound nicely it runs ticks, and keeps good time, tho i did have to shake it to get it started but it did stop after awhile, but then if you shake it, it will start to run again. This is typical of these type of antique movements and This tells me the movement needs a cleaning or oiling, who knows if it have ever been done in the last 130ish years. I did oil the movement tho i didnt take it completely out of the housing and from what i can tell it will need a proper cleaning by a clocksmith for long term operation and the one wheel seems not turn freely enough for it to keep running, i can tell this because i can help the wheel along with my finger and it will run fine. SEE VIDEO – Alarm functions as intended when tested – This clock will need a proper cleaning / service for long term proper operation and with the condition and rarity its certainly deserving of that. Clock does wind up fine and works. Has not been tested for accuracy. Most likely would need to be serviced as it did not come with any records.

The movement shows very little wear and runs for almost two days. Hour is struck on a bell. There is no half hour strike. The movement has been oiled properly. As you can see in the photo from the Seth Thomas clock book it is from 1888. And is 6 inches tall.
