Vintage Seth Thomas WWII US MARITIME COMMISSION Clock in Wood Case- No Key. Black bakelite case with a natural metal color face, serial number 31856, case measures 7.5 inches in diameter x 2.75 inches deep. It weighs: 3 lbs 1.3 oz. Untested with no key. This is basically in really good condition mostly just dirty from being stored for a long time. Please view photos for more details.

The case is in very good condition, but the clock is not working. It’s not overwhelmed because I can still wind it, but it’s just not working.

The Vintage Seth Thomas US Maritime Commission Clock in a Bakelite case is an antique original timepiece from the World War II era. This deck clock, made by Seth Thomas in the United States, features a Bakelite and brass construction, reflecting its maritime heritage. The clock also comes with a wind-up key, adding to its vintage charm and functionality. A perfect addition for collectors of maritime antiques or those interested in military history, this clock is a unique piece of historical significance. 1940s WWII Maritime Commission wind-up clock. Brass face with glass-front cover. Black Bakelite case was painted by a previous owner with a bronze finish; now has a distressed vintage look. Faceplate is marked U. Maritime Commission” & “Made by Seth Thomas in U. The bezel opens on the right with a knurled thumbscrew; hinged on the left and opens fully 180 degrees. A cork washer is contained in the bezel to maintain the air-tight integrity. Brass dial has bold black Arabic numerals. The Fast/Slow micrometer adjustment is below the 12. It is housed in its classic war-time Bakelite case marked on the back with classic GE logo. Brass winding key included (egraved with a “5”). Clock measures 7.75″ in Diameter, 2.75″ in Depth. I’ve owned the clock for 25+ years and have used it as a working clock. When wound fully, it keeps good time over several days before it starts to slow down.

Seth Thomas Mark I – Deck Clock Black US Navy Bakelite Exterior U. Pretty vintage and old. I have no idea how to get it to work. Looks to be bakelite, but not sure. Looks to be in great condition. Some marks here and there and many scratches on the front glass. Rust marks on the chains and metal. I was told it was it was from the USS Wyoming. No way to confirm that.

World War II Seth Thomas Mark I 1941 Bakelite US NAVY Deck MARITIME Clock. World War II era Seth Thomas Mark I Key wind Navy deck clock, dated 1941. Measures 8 1/2″ x 7 1/4″ x 4 tall. Mark I – Deck Clock, U. Navy N 35015 1941 on face. There is a screw lock on one side of the case, when undone it allows the body of the clock to move forward on a pin pivot, which reveals an original key hanging from the mounting plate, and allowing access to the rods for setting and winding. Came from a local estate. DOES NOT have the key. 6″ wide at the widest point and almost 4″ deep. Face is silver colored but I think the black paint is gone as there is a little bit of it near the 1 and 2. Normal usage wear, some light paint chips here and there, glass is a little dirty.
