Originally patented in 1921. This movement is stamped 115 D 4703 with the Made in USA ST geometric stamp. Ad by Seth Thomas Reads. Silverplated dial has numerals etched in black. Precision made 11-jeweled movement with temperature compensated escapement and Breguet hair-spring. 5? Back Diameter. 5? Face frame Diameter. Weighs 5 lbs 13 oz. The mechanism was carefully pulled and photographed to determine movement number, but we are not experts in repair and have lightly cleaned exterior parts, and reassembled. Some silverplating remains, and so we have removed dirt and debris and left any remaining plating or patina. There is a spot in the face plate near the 11 numeral that has lost silverplating. Some scuffs and scratches are present on the case from age and storage. No missing screws encountered, and the chime coil is intact. Please note that we do our best to describe all items to the best of our knowledge. However, we are not experts in any field. This German Leaf & Loon Cuckoo Clock by Seth Thomas is a beautiful vintage piece from the mid-20th century. It was working well when it was removed from the wall. There is some dust evident inside the case but I did not touch the gears which do not appear rusty. I cleaned the exterior only by wipe with natural wood oil. Vintage 1950’s SETH THOMAS school house clock. Large at 15 total diameter. CHROME METAL BODY with HIGH DOME glass front. These are usually GE etc. How often do you see a Seth Thomas school house clock in chrome? Condition: (please read) No cracks or chips in glass. No dings in metal. All three hands are there and not loose. The hands can be adjusted using the bottom adjuster. The hook on the back for hanging is still nice and strong. The clock doesnt have a cord so hasnt been tested. AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS LISTING I HAVE TWO OF THESE…. THE OTHER ONE IS EVEN NICER! PLEASE SEE MY OTHER LISTING. Electric Striking Mantle Clock. Is keeping time and will strike/chime on the hour and half hour. I believe the case is mahogany -not sure about wood types. Has an inlay strip in front. The wood case is clean, however it does have paint spackles on it – I believe can easily be cleaned up without any damage to the wood. According to the stamp on the bottom (5103), this clock was made in March 1951. The interior mechanism has a stamp of 5101 which translates to January 1951. 15″ long by 8 1/2″ high by 4 1/2 deep.
