Here is a very nice condition “Adamantine” finish 8 day time and strike mantle clock made by the Seth Thomas Clock Co. In Thomaston, Connecticut during the very early 1900’s. This clock is in a red woodgrain style Adamantine finish which may have been designed to simulate rosewood. The brass bezel and dial assembly is in very nice condition. This clock features the original signed Seth Thomas movement, which is in good running condition, keeping time and striking properly, counting the hour, i. 1 gong at 1:00, 2 gongs at 2:00, etc. And announcing the half hour with a single toll. It is a quality movement that, if properly maintained, should last many lifetimes. The “Adamantine” finish, which is a patented laminate finish from the late 1800’s, is also quite nice. There are a few minor handing marks and touch ups, but overall it is a great looking clock. You may notice a little shrinkage at the corners and edges, and some cracking here and there, minor touch-ups, as well as minor dings, dents and scuffs, which is the nature of the Adamantine finish. It is a thin laminate over soft wood, similar to our plastic, and so shrinks, cracks and dents fairly easily with just normal use over time, but as seen in the pictures, this clock shows very well. It is complete with a key and the origianl’boy on a fence’ pendulum and is ready to place up on the mantle and enjoy. The measurements are 13″ wide x 11 ½” high x 6 deep. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. All sales are final, so please be sure that you will be happy by reviewing the pictures and descriptions that we provide. We honestly want you to be happy. It is nearly impossible to find one in “mint” condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. Up for sale is an antique Seth Thomas wall clock. Clock is currently running but I don’t have the key. Clock is in pretty good condition for its age. The hinge is a little loose but still works fine. Wood is in great condition. Happy to answer any questions.
