Antique Seth Thomas “schoolhouse” clock. Was acquired with Shell oil logo around face which was removed as not thought to be original to the clock hence the glue spot damage to face. Has key and winds. When upright try’s to run as exemplified by the movement of the minute-hand in subsequent pictures. The pendulum arm has come out as shown in pictures and pendulum weight likely not original. Wood in good to very good condition for age. Needs some work but believe she will run again with little help from experienced clock person.

This clock is another nice condition and somewhat rare to find “Adamantine” finish 8 day time and strike mantle clock from our collection. It was made by the Seth Thomas Clock Co. In Thomaston, Connecticut, USA durig the lat 1800’s. This clock features the original signed Seth Thomas 8 day time and strike movement, which has been cleaned & serviced and is in good running condition, keeping time and striking properly, counting the hour, i. 1 gong at 1:00, 2 gongs at 2:00, etc. On an antique cathedral gong, and announcing the half hour with a single toll. It is a quality movement that, if properly maintained, should last many lifetimes. This is a classically styled late 1800’s model with a simulated black and green french marble finish, paw feet, rare to find fluted Adamantine columns and solid brass lion’s heads on either side. The “Adamantine” finish, which is a patented laminate finish from the late 1800’s, is in very good shape for its age. There may be a few very minor dings, but other than that, there is nothing to report. The measurements are 17″ wide x 10 ¾” high x 7 deep. It has a nice condition, signed, original pierced brass shield style dial with a solid brass bezel and original hands. The paper part of the dial is nicely aged and stained. This clock comes complete with the key and an original pendulum and is ready to place up on the mantle and enjoy. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. All sales are final, so please be sure that you will be happy by reviewing the pictures and descriptions that we provide. We honestly want you to be happy. It is nearly impossible to find one in “mint” condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. Once in awhile we do offer other types of antiques and collectibles for sale, but mainly clocks are what we’re about. We are a very small, family run enterprise.. Ben handles all repairs in house. He has been restoring clocks since 1976, and a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors since 1978. I used a key from another clock I own to wind it up and this clock seems to work as the pendulum moves and the minute and hour hands move. It also makes noise every hour. I don’t know much about it but seems to be in good condition.

Beautiful Seth Thomas outside escapement pillar and scroll clock. The backboard, dial, bell, hands, pendulum, pulleys, movement and label are original and period. As you can see, the movement is attached to the dial and makes use of compound pulleys. The 30-hour wooden works movement is untested but work.
