This is an antique Ansonia #5 clock open escapement movement, with ruby jeweled pallets, for a slate or marble clock with pendulum, hands, and key. This movement is not made or intended for a porcelain, cast iron, or wooden clock. This movement includes the hands, pendulum, and key. It has been timed correctly to match the pendulum. Dial is complete with clean glass, has no chips, original w/ beveled edge. This dial and movement come from the same clock and are a matching pair. Pendulum bob is original. The 2 ruby pallets are original. This is a #5 movement. This number is stamped into the brass on the rear of the movement. The needed distance from the center of the dial to top of the sound board is 5 1/2 This is to accommodate the length of the pendulum. The movement fits into a hole on the front of the clock that is 4 1/4″ to 4 1/2″ in diameter and this marble faceplate of the clock is 1/2 thick. This movement has been disassembled, repaired, and ultrasonically cleaned. New main springs installed. Movement repaired with new bushings. This also has a new suspension spring. Dial has been cleaned. Comes with the 3 screws for mounting the dial and movement to the clock. The last photo shows an Ansonia marble faceplate and how it should look. All of my restored mantel clock movements are completely disassembled, cleaned, repaired, timed and checked for 2 weeks minimum. They also come with the pendulum, key, and hands. The following measurements were taken “Center to Center”. Distance between 2 winding holes is 2 3/4. Distance between winding hole and center is 1 3/4. Distance between center and fast/slow adjustment is 2 1/8. Clearance needed from hand shaft to bottom of pendulum is approx. If you are replacing a movement, note the position of the hammer that strikes your gong. My movements also come with instructions on how to set the beat once you install it in your clock. Plus, I give other info on troubleshooting. You also get my contact info in case you have any questions, problems, or concerns. I’ll be happy to work with you if you have any problems. If you have a complete movement and wish to have it rebuilt, I can do this. Please send me a photo of your movement. This clock is in decent cosmetic condition for its age. There is a piece of veneer on the back left side that is peeling up (see last HD picture). The clock keeps good time and chimes at the half hour and hour. The movement has been disassembled, had bushings installed, cleaned, reassembled, and properly oiled. It runs for the full 8 days. The clock is 10 wide, 9 and a half inches tall, and 5 and a half inches deep. Please inspect all the HD pictures closely. If you have no experience with using mechanical clocks, I would kindly prefer that you refrain from purchasing this clock. Mechanical clocks are complex timepieces that are not plug n’ play devices.

Case finish worn with some rubs dings and scratches. Flaking and wear to the painted dial. Looks like the backboard has been replaced for some reason. Please view all 24 photos for measurements and condition. This is a video of the clock ticking for a few minutes and striking. The strike is off sequence. It also only strikes the hours, not the half’s. The video is not a guarantee the clock will come out of the box working.

It was made by the Seth Thomas Clock Company in Thomaston, Conn. USA right around 1920. This model features a signed Seth Thomas #89 movement that has been serviced and is in good running condition, keeping time and gonging properly. It has the nice old signed Seth Thomas painted dial that is in great aged condition, gently aged and worn. The original case finish is also very nice. It has nice, authentic light age crackling that is impossible to duplicate. This a beautifully styled clock that has been very well taken care of over the years. The case measurements are 8 1/2″ wide x 11 1/2″ high x 5 deep. This clock comes complete with a key and pendulum. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. All sales are final, so please be sure that you will be happy by reviewing the pictures and descriptions that we provide. We honestly want you to be happy. It is nearly impossible to find one in “mint” condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. Here is a pretty clean Seth Thomas calendar clock, the suspension rod is off as you can see in one of the pictures, and I think where it attaches at the top needs replaced on the rod itself that little flimsy piece of metal! The case and everything else is very nice, some loss on one of the moldings on the top on the side as shown in the pictures. So at the moment because of the spring I have not tested the clock.
