WONDERFUL SETH THOMAS SONS & COMPANY GILT FIGURAL MANTEL CLOCK CIRCA 1872. Measures approximately 15 ½ high by 17 ½ wide by 5 ½ deep. Clock has been serviced and is running fine. It is running fast but can be adjusted by moving the pendulum balance either up or down. There are two keys for the large wind-ups in the clock face but needs a very tiny key for the wind-up in the top rim of the clock face. I believe that the figures on the top of the clock represent Mary and Jesus. Seth Thomas Sons & Co. Was formed in 1865 and ceased to exist as a stand-alone company in 1879 when it was absorbed into parent Seth Thomas Clock Co. My Tran Duy Ly Seth Thomas Clocks and Movements reference has this clock as produced in 1872.
