Beautiful original and early Seth Thomas “pillar and scroll” wood works clock in nice condition. Circa 1830, an Eli Terry design, this was Seth Thomas first clock. Movement is clean, the strike side has a gear which has been repaired and needs attention. (see photo) The suspension spring has worn out and needs replaced. Original top and bottom glass with bubbles in the original front glass. Part of the original label is on the inside. The dial is in beautiful aged condition with no damage just age. The dial is wood. This is an excellent Vintage Large Brass Clock Porthole that would look great in a Restaurant/Bar, Office or wherever you like. This porthole has 4 brass screw eyes which unscrew to remove the front. The glass front is plexiglass. You could make a unique table out of it if you like. The clock inside is a Seth Thomas which is a newer model and works great. It takes a double A battery.
