This is one of Seth Thomas early miniature Ogee clocks finished in rosewood. The clock is in great shape with only slight losses. It’s a pretty early clock and the condition is better than should be expected. This one uses Seth Thomas’ less seen round plate movement. The clock is mostly untested but it was wound and allowed to run as it was being listed. It ticked and when the hands were cycled it chimed. This is an early and rare clock and in great shape. It’s priced to sell so don’t miss it!

The best way to confirm is seeing, the internal threaded rusty post, the turned cast brass top and thin spun brass bowels. I’ve seen these finials on the early Seth Thomas off center pendulum Pillar & Scroll clock, and Few later models. Those were first produced around the 1818 era. FOR THE FEW WHO HAVE A SETH THOMAS OFF CENTER PILLAR AND SCROLL CLOCK WITH REPLACEMENT FINIALS. THESE WILL AND ALOT OF VALUE TO YOUR RARE CLOCK. I’M LOOKING TO FIND ONE OF THESE RARE CLOCKS. IF I FIND ONE. I’D BE KEEPING THESE FINIALS.

Seth Thomas engine room clock with black phenolic case in working condition. Early serial number’3047′ dates this clock in the 1930’s. Comes with winding key. Marked’Made by Seth Thomas In USA. 12/24 hour clock. Can be mounted/hung using the three holes on the back side of the case. 7 3/4″ diameter, 2 3/4″ depth(3 1/8 including the knob). Missing second hand. Case has supposedly been cleaned to some extent, giving it the black/brown marbled look. Paint markings on some parts of the side and the back of the case. Spots of rust on the knob, though it still opens and shuts properly. Small chips on the outer edge of glass cover, unnoticeable when not taken out. Overall wear on the case, dial, and glass cover as shown in photos. Rusted/work winding key, still works. Please refer to all photos to determine overall condition and feel free to ask any questions regarding this product.

Item sounds only at 1hr mark. Key winds the gears nice and smoothly. No tension or binding. The pendulum will go back and forth for half a minute before gently coming to a stop. Minute hand moves when pendulum is in motion. The wood have many bits of damage/ware. Item measures 10in wide, 14in tall, and 4.5in deep.
